Kristina Rodanas

Kristina Rodanas’ interest in art began as a student at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, NH where she studied with the acclaimed watercolorist, Robert Eshoo.

Later, attending Boston University’s School for the Arts, Rodanas furthered her education with instruction from painters Arthur Polonsky and Richard Yarde.

Throughout her professional career as an illustrator, her paintings have been published in a wide collection of books, many of them winners of awards and accolades. Her intent as an illustrator and fine artist has been to evoke “feeling" and “memory" in each viewer, something beautiful and lasting. Her work has been described as “vibrating with texture and color”, “jewel-toned”, and “dancing with life.” Many of Kristina Rodanas' original children’s illustrations are included in private and university collections throughout the United States.

Kristina has extensively explored the American West and Southwest, and is recognized for her sensitive and respectful portrayal of Native American people and culture. Recently, a member of a Northwest Coast native tribe explained how the artist's paintings in the book, “Dance of the Sacred Circle”, had inspired her to revisit her own native heritage. 

Over the past several years, original children’s illustrations have escalated in investment value and collectability. The paintings for sale on this website are a small sampling of a larger selection of original work that Kristina Rodanas now is offering for sale. Each painting will be sold unframed and signed by the artist. Additional pieces can be seen in each of her published books.
